I didn’t have the heart to tell our comical maître d’ that I’m not a secret agent, dammit.

Nor that it’s pronounced Mack-ee-ver.

A Scottish Hebridean name.

Outside the Isle of Lewis, people naturally assume it’s pronounced Mac-eye-ver.
